Cafe World Spices

Thanks Rammbbs7 for the following info:

Mystery spice: seems to be a 5 minute reduction in cooking time.

super salt: 5 percent more serving,

six pack: 1800
ten pack: 3000
twenty pack: 6000
fifty pack: 15000
hundred pack: 30000

power pepper: 10 percent more serving

six pack: 3600
ten pack: 6000
twenty pack: 12000
fifty pack: 30000
hundred pack: 60000

one hour thyme: speeds cook time by 1 hour

six pack: 2 cash
ten pack: 3 cash
twenty pack: 5 cash
fifty pack: 10 cash
hundred pack: 18 cash

six hour thyme: speeds cook time by six hours

six pack: 10 cash
ten pack: 15 cash
twenty pack: 25 cash
fifty pack: 50 cash
hundred pack: 85 cash

instant thyme: instant food

six pack: 25 cash
ten pack: 35 cash
twenty pack: 55 cash
fifty pack: 98 cash
hundred pack: 145 cash

each one can only be used once (for one stove)

---

In short, spices seem to be pretty much worthless. If you are cooking a high total revenue dish, some of the peppers are worth the cost. However, as of right now, it seems that spices are just a way for you to "buy" levels for Cafe Cash (i.e. buying "Instant Thyme"). Pretty weak.

Cost: 815 coins
Total Revenue: 3000 coins
Net Profit: 2185 coins
Profit per hour spent cooking: 168 coins per hour
Cafe Points: 101 (30 for preparing, 70 for serving, 1 for cleaning up)

Spice Rack Guide

You can now begin to put together your spice rack in Facebook's Cafe World.

There are 35 items you will need to collect to put together your spice rack. You need 5 shelves, 5 small jars, 5 medium jars, 5 large jars, and 15 lids. You collect the pieces as gift requests from your friends, and you can also ask for help as you can see in the picture above.

Items are received as gift requests as you can see in the picture above. When you send gifts to your friends, note that you only have 2 of the total 5 pieces available (much like the Chop Shop in Mafia Wars), so you will need to receive gifts from several friends in order to get all your materials.

The actual spices are not in game yet, so we can only guess at what they will do. All that we know is that they will "improve your cooking". I take this to mean more coins per serving, or more servings per recipe, maybe even more cafe points per recipe or faster cooking, depending on which spice you use. This would be pretty neat if this was the case, as it would allow players to customize their experience a bit more. Those trying to level up would be able to use the experience points spice, while those working on new decorations would be able to use the coin spice.

Only time will tell! The only unfortunate thing is that some update recently made Cafe World load incredibly slow. It takes a few minutes to completely render my Cafe and I am on a gaming system.. quite annoying!

Once you have all your items, you can construct your spice rack.

----

Edit:

All players can now place a "decorative" spice rack for free. To find your rack, click "customize" then click on the window icon. It will be the first item there.

Belgian Waffles

Eggs Benedict

Ready in: 6 hours
Cost: 315 coins
Total Revenue: 1140 coins
Net Profit: 825
Profit per hour spent cooking: 137.5 coins per hour
Cafe Points: 92 (21 for preparing, 70 for serving, 1 for cleaning up)
Cafe Points per hour spent cooking: 15.3 cafe points per hour spent cooking

Steak Dinner

Ready in: 16 hours
Cost: 3015 coins
Total Revenue: 5850 coins
Net Profit: 2835
Profit per hour spent cooking: 177.19 coins per hour
Cafe Points: 191 (30 for preparing, 160 for serving, 1 for cleaning up)
Cafe Points per hour spent cooking: 11.94 cafe points per hour spent cooking

---

Nothing too exciting with these recipes; just some decent low-mid level items to cook. If you've logged in lately, you will notice that there will be a "Spice Rack" option added to the game soon. Should be interesting!

Valentine's Day Recipes; Guide

The Valentine's Day update is here! As predicted, there are quite a few new items. There are also 3 new recipes: Valentine Cake, Seafood Paella (level 60), and Veggie Lasagna (level 66).

Here are the new recipe stats:

Valentine Cake

Ready in: 12 hours
Cost: 515 coins
Total Revenue: 2400 coins
Net Profit: 1885 coins
Profit per hour spent cooking: 157.08 coins per hour
Cafe Points: 102 (21 for preparing, 80 for serving, 1 for cleaning up)
Cafe Points per hour spent cooking: 8.5 cafe points per hour spent cooking

Seafood Paella (level 60)

Ready in: 14 hours
Cost: 1515 coins
Total Revenue: 5600 coins
Net Profit: 4085
Profit per hour spent cooking: 291.76 coins per hour
Cafe Points: 273 (72 for preparing, 200 for serving, 1 for cleaning up)
Cafe Points per hour spent cooking: 19.5 cafe points per hour spent cooking

Veggie Lasagna (level 66)

Ready in: 22 hours
Cost: 1415 coins
Total Revenue: 5400 coins
Net Profit: 3985
Profit per hour spent cooking: 181.14 coins per hour
Cafe Points: 437 (66 for preparing, 370 for serving, 1 for cleaning up)
Cafe Points per hour spent cooking: 19.86 cafe points per hour spent cooking

Conclusion

The Valentine Cake is pretty poor (but then again, the level requirement is quite low).

However, the 291.76 coins per hour from the Seafood Paella makes this recipe the best in the game for profitability. Additionally, the Veggie Lasagna, at 19.86 cafe points per hour spent cooking, is the best long-term (22 hr+) recipe in game for cafe points per hour.

Free gifts have also been opened. To open my gifts, I simply placed them in my cafe and when I logged into today, they opened. So far I have just seen various decorations. Most of these are pretty goofy and don't fit my cafe at all, but some of them sell for a decent amount of coins (especially if you are just starting out):

If you found anything exciting in the gifts or get the info for the CP on either of these two recipes, feel free to post in the comments section of this post!

Free Valentine's Day Gifts

Cafe World is now getting its free gift event!

If you have played Mafia Wars or FarmVille, you probably have a good idea of how this works already. If you haven't, here is what happens:

You can get a lot of these gifts and hoard them until February 9th. Once the open date has passed, you will be able to open these for prizes.

Based on the rewards from other Zynga titles, these items will probably be a mix of old cafe cash decor items, extra servings of food, old free gift decor items (like poinsettas), and a few select new items.

Additionally, odds are we will NOT see different rewards from different gift styles.. so rather than diversifying your gift portfolio, just make sure you are holding as many gifts as you can.

We will see on the 9th!
